The voices behind the masterpieces

 Leo Tolstoi, Victor Hugo, Virginia Woolf: the voices of these masters of literature always seem to be written in stone — until now. For our Eternal Masterpiece Collection, the first Creatokia Originals,  a select cast of actors have put their stamp on passages of works from some of the greatest playwrights, novelists and poets in history. Adjoa Andoh

A renown stage actor, Adjoa Andoh has been celebrated for lead roles at the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, where in 2019 she conceived, co-directed, and played Richard II, in UK's first all-women-of-colour production. She made her Hollywood debut in 2009, starring alongside Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood’s biographical sports film Invictus. She has been a BBC radio actor for over 30 years and is an award-winning narrator of over 150 audiobooks. Adjoa Andoh is an Associate Artist at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Senior Associate Artist at The Bush Theatre and a Fairtrade Ambassador. 

As one of Britain’s leading actors...

…Adjoa won acclaim as Lady Danbury in the global Netflix series Bridgerton - a role that saw her nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards. On the small screen in 2020, she was spellbinding in the psychological thriller Fractured, as well playing tough cop DI Nina Rosen in BBC1’s Silent Witness. Recently she also starred as Nenneke in the blockbuster fantasy drama The Witcher.

Simon Callow

Simon Callow is a highly regarded actor, musician, writer and theatre director. His most recognizable roles were in Four weddings and a funeral, Shakespeare in love and A room with a view. His recent highlights include Death in paradise, Outlander, Doctor Who, Miss Marple and The Rebel. Simon also starred in the latest season of The Witcher, as the character Codringher.

…this narrator and actor was also an author of literary masterpieces. For example, he wrote various works about Oscar Wilde and Charles Dickens.

Toby Stephens

Toby Stephen's acting training began at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). His debut on stage was in 1992, at the West End Theatre in London, he played the role of Damis in Molière's Tartuffe. In the same year he took his first role in film, as Othello in the 1992 film adaptation of Orlando. He followed the footsteps of his mother, the famous actress Maggie Smith (known as Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter) and proved his talents for acting on the big screen in movies and television.

…the leading role of Mr Robinson next to Molly Parker and Parker Posey in the legendary Netflix remake of Lost in Space. He has also recently finished shooting the lead role in the upcoming second series of Alex Rider for Eleventh Hour Films. He starred in Stephen Poliakoff's new 6-part drama Summer of Rockets for BBC2 and also played the brilliant lead role of Captain Flint in four seasons of the Starz series Black Sails.

Dietmar Wunder

Dietmar Wunder made his way into the film business as the German dubbing voice for James Bond movies with Sean Connery. Today he works as an actor, voice over artist, dialogue director and narrator. He is the German voice of the current James Bond actor Daniel Craig as well as Adam Sandler, Cuba Gooding Jr., Omar Epps and Sam Rockwell. 

Wunder has received several awards...

…for his work, including the German Synchronization Prize 2008 for directing dialogue in the TV series Weeds. He also received the Ear Canoe 2011 in the category “Best Reading Children/Young People” for the audiobook Chronicles of the World Seekers – The Palace of Poseidon by Thomas Thiemeyer. On top of that he also received an award as Best Supporting Actor at the 2010 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival for his role in the crime thriller Not Worth A Bullet.

Uve Teschner

Uve Teschner is a familiar name for audiobook lovers, since these cover a large part of his work as a narrator. Whether thriller or non-fiction, crime or children's book, contemporary or classic fiction - the diversity of different genres appeal to him. One of his more famous narrations are the German audiobooks of the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

In recent years...

…Teschner has narrated around 500 audiobooks, including books by authors such as Margaret Atwood, Ramez Naam, Jonathan Safran Foer, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, James Frey, Jo Nesbø, Greg Iles, John Katzenbach and many more. Radio plays (live on stage or in the studio) and readings are also part of his work. Moreso his voices features audio descriptions and voice overs for radio and television. His voice can also be heard in regional and national advertising campaigns or in German dubbed TV series and movies.
